In that case yes and no- depending on where one would be wearing the suit and what occasion.
Night at the pub- forget the tie.
Day at the point to point meet - wear one.
(I suspect I have probably given a pretty inane answer - and should really pay some sort of penalty)

i like bow ties but do not know if i would wear one with a tweed suit. i think long tie - four in hand knot - is the best way to go. at least for me if i had sucha suit.
