I bought one last month. Pretty impressive. I suspect the colors on the Internet are off a good bit. Certainly the Tartan Green on my computer screen looked blue but in fact was a true hunter green, the dark color Brooks hasn't offered in many years. In the scratchy old wool that Brooks used to use. The sweater had a label of the Shetland Woolen Co. and seemed to indicate that it was fully knitted and fashioned in the Shetlands. The neck was a bit wide, but I thought it a fine sweater. In numbered sizes (Brooks hasn't done that since the 1980s). Recommended.
I second this. I purchased one in black this year and have been impressed with the quality and the sizing, both of which haven't been seen in a shetland sweater since the old Brooks collection.
On the whole I like the O'Connell's shetland better than the Shaggy Dog.
I'm thinking of taking a chance that the burgundy is actually the burgundy that Brooks hasn't offered in literally 17 years. I would appreciate the input from any FNB voyeur. Is the burgundy the dark Burgundy of yesteryear?
Brooks used to offer 18 shades of shetlands. O'Connells may be the supplier of yesterday, if the colors are true. Brooks Bros. hasn't offered sized sweaters since 1989. and the Press Dogs in the last three years are not up to the job. and have not been sized since what 2004?

^ Tom, the O'Connell's burgundy Shetland is a good shade; quite similar to my circa-1985 Brooks model. I think you'll be pleased.
