Re: Tintin Style.

Interesting pic.  My build is an awful lot like the gent on the far left in the blue suit, odd vest and bow tie.  I've got rather more hair and rather less nose, though.

The details are fine, likewise the representation of politics at the time, however politically uncorrect they may be today.

Check out Marc Bolan when he was still Mark Feld -

He called Bilgorris' a 'Haddocky sort of place".

Another Herge fan here.  I like Tintin's hairstyle, but the plus fours I could do without.

I always thought Captain Haddock's polo neck sweater looked quite smart.

Re: Tintin Style.

I am a fan as well. i grew up with Archie and Disney comic books. Big Carl Barks fan. In my dotage I discovered the incredible works of Herge. The first one I read involved the Japanese invasion of China in the late 1930s. The drawing was incredible. The narratives were intriguing. A great storyteller.

Re: Tintin Style.

TinTin was certainly a legendary comic book character. But he was only a rival of Scrooge McDuck.
I'm only paraphrasing the environmental lawyer in Whit Stillman's masterpiece: The Last Days Of Disco.

Re: Tintin Style.

For those who like wearable Tintin, see Mr. Sumner's sweater here:

Naff though it is, I bought a tie rather a number of years ago at the Tintin store in San Francisco.  It has a printed repeating pattern based on the cover of Tintin and the Blue Lotus.
