Just purchased the BB navy and grey houndstooth sack sportcoat from the sale section. As this is the first sack purchased new, it should fit wonderfully.
I am wanting to know what others would suggest to go with such a jacket. Grey or navy pants, of course, but shirt and tie combos especially.
I dont usually do black shoes, but I have some so I have that covered. Thanks in advance.
Sounds like a natural for a well broken-in white shirt and a navy silk knit tie to me.
Yes. The white OCBD and navy knit tie is a great idea, but I am afraid of looking too matchy.
Wondering how contrasting colors would look with the navy, such as pink, yellow, or orangy-peach?
Probably need to ensure they go well with the gray in the coat too. Guess I will need to experiment when it arrives.
Shuman, are you referring to this BB jacket?

If so, I purchased this as well and am experimenting with options. I've worn it with some obvious shirts: white, blue, blue candy stripe oxfords. Recently, I've tried out two new purchases with it: charcoal candy stripe oxford and also a large white w/ med. blue windowpane tab collar. I really like the charcoal stripe oxford with it. I try to stay more with solid ties, both knit and grenadine, but I'd be lying if I said I hadn't given my navy/silver-gray guard stripe a go with it.
That said, I'd like to see what other contrasting options you guys think would work.

I've got that sport coat and generally wear a BB #1 stripe, navy/light blue, with it. Or a navy emblematic. White OCBD. My tailor trimmed it down a bit around the shoulders and removed most of the padding. It's become a favorite.

Salmon OCBD if going open-necked?
For myself, I'd like a pale blue shirt (boring old me) and a dark burgundy knit tie.
Archie and Tucker, Yes thats the one. Am I to understand that it has shoulder padding? This is my first sack that will fit correctly (I assume) so I usually need the room in the shoulders, but may have sides taken in.
Well, my assumption was wrong. Body was fine in length, but way too narrow in chest, shoulders and arms. Guess a sack just isnt for me.
Now, off to create my own style....
