My Feet -

Yesterday was a pic-nic - A fine sunny day and we got up early to roast a chicken & make potato salad. We bought wine & cheesecake on the way & met friends here:

They brought more wine & music & it was a very nice day. The soles of my feet are now Kelly Green from dancing on the young grass up there. Is this "Trad"?

Conversation was as various as the music & wine (I brought Trojan & Chablis). One key topic was vanity and if those who were always looking in the mirror were exhibitionists or voyuers. I don't think we managed to decide.

Camp Mocs again for me which are now also Kelly Green inside from my feet. They are best. Absolute classics which stand apart from all the other very samey Quoddy/Russell/Whoever offerings.
It was warm enough for Chino shorts (also LL Bean) & a Madras BD of mine from the other day which I must wash sooner or later. Like Seersucker, I never iron Madras. To do so would be to go against nature I feel.

Hope your day was good too. What did you get up to? And how are your feet this morning? Today I shall garden & make soup with yesterday's chicken bones.

Best -

Jim

Re: My Feet -

We were invited to dine with friends at their new house- "come round and we shall cook you dinner" they said
so I felt somewhat cheated when we were presented with a cheese fondue and a hot stone with raw steak and chicken-so in actuall fact we ended up cooking our own dinner- non the less the company was good and the wine even better-and we didn`t have to do the washing up.

I wore my new buff coloured suede chukkas-with a rubber crepe sole- made in Romania under license from Gant, average quality at best-and really not worth the £100 I paid for them-but I love `em

My feet are now a pale Lime Green.

A kind of Lilly P. shade. Still "Trad"?

Re: My Feet -

Our weekend saw us at a German/Danish 50th birthday. Met a Danish bloke who said he has Billy Cobham's old drumkit in his cellar.
My feet were indeed a tad strained the day after from all the brogue-shuffling on the dancefloor; none of us are getting any younger.
Mrs M wore a charming almost-black linen suit, and darker hair than usual.
For me it was an excuse to crack out the tartan party jacket (pushing the envelope even for me as far as snugness goes, it even fitted under my poplin suit jacket for standing outside smoking).
We left at 1:30 a.m. but I heard the hardcore partiers (my nieces) were there til quarter to five.
Enjoyed myself no end.
