I was considering this route. Is there any reason why I should not get some made bespoke? I ask because I get an impression on the message boards that this is a waste of money.
I don't see the reasoning behind the idea that it's anymore a waste of money than long sleeve shirts. If you appreciate the fit of bespoke, I'd get them made.
When l first read the title of the thread l flinched. But when l think about it, a nice short sleeved bespoke dress shirt may be a good idea for casual outside parties on hot nights (not too dressy but still can be dressy enough for the circumstances).
I understand that in Darwin the people, do no wear, shoos?

For those who decide against the bespoke route for s/s shirts, the Black Fleece s/s buttondowns from Brooks are really, really nice. In fact, the entire line of BF buttondowns is nice, regardless of sleeve length.

Nothing wrong with them, especially if you use them a lot and if you have a lot of shirts. Nothing more annoying than attending a summer outdoors casual function in ill fitting rtw knowing you have a hundred office shirts at home doing you no good at all.
