A very unusal lot those trads. l try to run, but l always find myself coming back and thinking about them.
My lvy League outfit is almost completed but it's hard work finding the stuff. No trad or lvy clothes out this way.

I still think there is great potential there - At the moment we see it best on the Trad Blogs. Oddly the Trad forum and those previously thought to be the leaders of the Trads are the least important elements of Trad just now. The debate/discussion has moved on without them pretty much and they need to play catch up.
'Trad' is a snappy name & very sellable either as something new in its own right or as a retrospective look at Classic American style. At the moment Trad has chosen the first of those two options and, like Preppy before it, settled on being an updated look at the style, keeping its own 'curriculum' largely intact. And largly that is the reason why I'll never personally be a Trad, but I do wish them well in promoting their take on Traditional American style.
Not being a Trad I have no right to change the movement, but if I could I think I'd rather see it as all the things I've talked about in the past - A wider look at the whole of the 100 year history of the look including all those highways & byways of the style which (I think) add a lot to the story.
At the end of the day Trad will be what the Trads want it to be. It is theirs to define.
Really just an interweb phenomenon when it comes down to it.
Shooey, why are you trying to assemble an Ivy outfit? Seems like a strange diversion given your tastes in clothes & shoos.
