Some 'Oxford Bags' circa 1925 were high backed ('Fishtail', even) with a back buckle.
Earlier than then I don't know.

Brown Tweed jacket with madras shorts, white socks & loafers, AND a cigarette!
I can almost hear all the Tradly Gentlemen scratching their heads...
Love the 3rd shot down. Could that one be Harvard Yard?
Orange is very Princeton isn't it? Would that make sense for the last shot?

So sharp you make a razor blade look like a hammer!
This is the stuff.
Great pics TV, StyleC, and Daniele!
This thread is really turning into one for the ages, destined to be an alltime classic reference point
Thanks for your kind remarks TL and GS! I have to admit that most of the merits must be credited to the photographer, b/w helps a lot...:-)
Great thread indeed, please keep posting!

Given the length of some of those trousers, I can't understand why some people find Thom Browne so jarring and edgy. Personally I love 60s style pants and whether or not they're "modern" is irrelevant to me. the line created by the dramatic taper is great. it adds an air of nonchallance without looking too calculated.
