Re: Ivy League style for today

Is that the same suit from a couple of weeks ago?  I love the shape of those lapels.

Re: Ivy League style for today

It's a 3/2 suit without darts, with a hooked vent.  The shoulders aren't as natural as some sacks.  I was dressed in a fairly Ivy-Mod style that day.

moos, i like the jacket! DIY pays sometimes!

today, i've been on a very - er - subcultural vibe

a black/white/grey large gingham check bd (no name off high street but a nice slim fit and a very decent collar roll)
burgundy v neck lambswool slipover (no name also)
dark denims w 3/4 " turnuos (hm)
black / charcoal / gray argyles (burlington)
burgundy wingtips (vintage deadstock bostonians)
matching belt
buergundy paisley sil / navy wool scarf
black crombie
rather newly cut 'college boy'
off to christmas holidays.. well happy!

Bue/Blue/Blue Pendleton board shirt over Grey LL Bean Sweat over White Hanes Beefy T.
Old 'Vintage' Bean 'LL' jeans - 1/2 turn-ups.
Old 'Weejun' loafers by GH Bass & Co. - The colour of Dried Blood.   http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/07AjbSL3Y731W/610x.jpg
Rag wool socks - The colour of Oatmeal.   http://www.cksinfo.com/clipart/food/meals/oatmeal.png

Americana I'd say. Kinda campusy too.

Re: Ivy League style for today

Packing for Christmas with the aged relatives. I think a tweed suit, for the inevitable Fogey Fete. Trusty blue blazer, camel hair version. And a camel hair plaid with a little room in the chest for a sweater, for tooling around Washington. Five ties (one bow). Four shirts. Two slacks, two chinos. Loafers, one pair decent bluchers, LL Bean boots for anticipated slop. Flannel shirts to taste. I can take as much as I want — I'm driving down — but the challenge is to be minimal. I hate having a ton of stuff in the car, anyway.

the worst thing is the CD player in the car is kaput, which means I am at the mercy of the radio. Aaaagh.

Hey Brownshoe, is that a TV set of some sort behind you in the bottom picture?
