^ As soft shoulder as you're gonna find mate, indeed.
I almost grabbed my Buffercoat as well today, but with 6 celcius I opted for the pea coat instead.
Otherwise, I'm also wearing Playboy chukkas (Sanders) and Uniqlo chinos ("vintage") today. All hail the the international telepathic society of sublime easiness.

Last night I met up with some old pals at a friends house, as a couple who emigrated to Australia 30 years ago are over for a visit.
There was much reminiscing. Anello & Davide, Austins, army surplus shops, Mrs Trotsi and Alexis Korner plus much more.
There were some lovely old photos and a soundtrack to match too.....Jim, you'd have loved it.

Daks charcoal twill flat front slacks cuffed

Yes, it was. Anelo was on the east side of Charing Cross Road just north of Cambridge Circus. It was run by a woman who lived in Wembley Park and who I used to see often on my way to school.
It was primarily a shop for ballet and dancing shoes plus other theatrical footwear.
When I bought my boots there they were actually made to measure, the only time in my life that I`ve had mtm shoes. When I picked them up they`d made two pairs, slightly differently sized. This was just before I got into Ivy League stuff, probably around 1960.
As aljazz says their main business was theatrical footwear and dancing shoes. They also did bespoke work.
Some of my pals had the cuban heeled boots made in green or blue leather, they were pretty expensive at the time.
They made a cheaper alternative in black with a seam up the front.
Later on the Beatles picked up on them. After that, everyone and his brother wanted a pair, because the Charing Cross Rd shop could no longer cope with the demand, they would only supply them from their Drury Lane branch. There is a picture of people queing up outside the Dury Lane shop in 'The Look'.

Right... Thanks for the A&D links, Chris, and for the memories, aljazz!
Here's me:
White T, Pink Brooks OCBD, Grey Shetland, Olive Cord Jeans, Bottle Green Socks, Clarks Desert Boots, unkempt and unshaven... for outside a plaid scarf, a cheap black C&A hat and an old beat up Donkey jacket... just went out to the filling station to get some food and water... paid three times the price than I would have in a supermarket...
Could have gotten another great Ivy jacket from Chris instead... !
