I had a strong urge to turn up to work in my sharkskin suit today. An urge that I smothered at birth.
It is, after all (as a colleague of mine once called it), 'Casio Friday'.
So it's white leather Dunlop tennis shoes, beige/grey/navy Burlington argyles, very dark brown C&A chinos, untucked light grey M&S fly-fronted tropical shirt and short beige fly-fronted rain jacket. Square black Casio G-Shock on wrist, natch.
Black Paraboot Universite loafers (sans label).
Bed Burlingtons.
Vintage wash LLBean classic jeans. 1/2" turn ups.
White J. Press flap pocket OCBD.
Baracuta G4 in Natural.

all dressed up today my best
Landsend kahkis, flat front, cuffed, with nice crease
my inherited edward Greens
yellow/white/lite blue argyles
yellow Brooks oxford cloth, ironed within an inch of its life
brown leather belt
argyle and sutherland tie
Like Mike, I get to put away the work clothes and dress like a gentleman today. This is an exemplary summer day in The Sticks. Sunny, high in the mid 80s, humidity under control. It's Friday with no court or client obligations, so all of the Londony stuff gets a holiday.
Tan/cream 'sucker suit.
Blue OCBD. Open at the collar. I've got a tie or two around somewhere in case of emergency.
A ribbon belt.
986s with no socks.
When I went sockless with lined loafers at AAAT they said I was mad! But it is not I who am mad... Cackle, cackle, cackle.
Casual Friday here, too.
Ray-Ban Club Masters,
Land's End madras shirt,
Gap original fit indigo jeans,
ancient Gap brown belt,
navy socks,
brown chukkas,
SS dive watch.
^ I love (amongst other things) how the mouses' eyes seem to follow you around the room... Looking good there Brownshoe! But you knew that already...
LL Bean Blue/White Seersucker half-sleeve BD for me today. A nice narrow old-school stripe.
M&S Blue Oxford cloth flat-front shorts. I've only ever worn Oxford shirts before & I'm loving these new Oxford cloth shorts (got them Yesterday) on a hot day like today. BD Baggies used to do nice Oxford cloth shorts too once upon a time...
Oddly I'm wearing dirty Saddle Bucks (Walkover) without socks with the shorts on a whim. I may well switch back to my habitual Camp Mocs later. I suspect I look a little like a photo shoot at the moment... A little too quirky.
