Re: Ivy League style for today

Thanks for the comments!

If by "how do you find the JTG shirts?"  you how do I like them?  They are incredible, as the fit is very snug which is hard to come by.  The only complaint I have is that the collar and cuffs are interfaced, and the sleeves are a bit baggy.  But at the pricepoint, they are a real bargain.

Yeah I made the butterfly collection along with the cabinet/dresser thing to my left.

I'll have more pictures from time to time.

Tom - Your collar roll looks great.  I believe you get some of your OCBDs via Brooks MTM.  I have been happy with their MTM in pinpoint and decided to have some OCBDs made.  I was thoroughly disappointed with the quality of the fabric.  It seems much inferior to some of the OTR shirts I have purchased in the last few years.  Have you been happy with the quality?  Maybe I just got some bad fabric.

Yes, I get most of my shirts at Brooks MTM. I get them at 346 Madison, not the catalog. Ive always been very happy with the quality of their oxford cloth and the large selection they have. This particular shirt is from Paul Winston. Different shape collar than Brooks, pointier if that makes sense. I like the shape alot, will probably order some more in the near future.

What didnt you like about Brooks oxford cloth?

Re: Ivy League style for today

Worn old wine coloured loafers bought so long ago I no longer recall the manufacturer. Sebago or Dexter, I think.
Brown cashmere blend socks.
Bone coloured Levi's 514 cords.
Brown woven leather belt, brass buckle.
Pink pinpoint non-iron slim fit button-down, Brooks Brothers.
Needlecord toast-coloured jacket. 3/2 with ticket pocket and darts. Fortunately those details don't offend me.

Later, for a quick stroll to the shops, swapped shirt and jacket for battered old green Schott sweatshirt and blue-black Brooks Brandon jacket - their G9.

Re: Ivy League style for today

I think you just need to wash them. I recall being told they starch the shirts before sending them out from the factory.

I'm so classic it's bordering on boring.

Navy golf jacket
Blue ocbd
Khakis
Medium brown desert boots

(London Fog made in USA, Brooks Brothers slim fit made in USA, Uniqlo "vintage" chino made in Japan and "cola" Clarks made in Vietnam with matching brown suede Ralph Lauren belt made in USA).

^That's a nice old shirt by Brooks! Correct me if I'm wrong. The likeness to the shirt I'm wearing now is scary.
