I can see a lighter colour matching Arthur's complexion better. Transparent amber frames or something.
Victory for Ralphus! Throw off your shackles! Run for the North... Escape the tyranny of 'Boss' Patrick!
Patrick, what are those shoes?
"Beefroll" would actually make a great name for a Dick Tracy villain. And it would always appear in quotation marks--"Be on your guard, Sam--"Beefroll" Jones is gunning for you!"
You may be right about the glasses, but I have a perhaps perverse dedication to dark, chunky hornrims. I think they give some structure to my pale blob of a face, and I've always just liked them, on Buddy Holly, Elvis Costello, etc.
I have tried following color/complexion advice when trying on frames, but, though light-colored frames are ostensibly what I should go for, they look awful on me. Blonde tortoiseshell makes me look diseased, and more solid-colored examples give me the air of a "sketchy guy hanging around the playground," somehow.
I wear contacts about half the time, and take them out as soon as I get home. I agree I look better without glasses--but more like "myself" with them. It's a conundrum..
The loafers are Allen Edmonds Hanovers - available at Grapevinehill right now for 25 percent off whatever the regular price is. They are having a moving sale.
I think it comes to about $130 after shipping.
The AE auction store on eBay has them too.
I really like them, I find they bridge the gap between the beefroll and the strap penny.
They called those Hanover? Cheeky little bastards, using the name of a good defunct shoemaker.
I like the look of them, not too smallish.
