Does the Universe want me to buy these shoes?

Who cares matey.
S.F has been over-run by an abundance of new people and small timers. Very little of interest anymore. Pity they couldn't kick all the people off who joined in 2008 and after (sarcasm intended). The level of inanity is at AAAC levels now, the only difference is that S.F talk about higher end products.
This is the 5th month things have been flat, but there are still heaps of people visiting the site; who knows what they are all doing. lt looks like it is mainly new people posting dumb shit.

Gentlemen,
Upon picking my nose I lean towards right index finger into right hand nostril as an opening gambit. You may choose to think of this as my East finger/nostril.
Is this correct?
Like you, I often attend upscale social functions and so your advice would be very welcome.
I remain,
etc.

The Worst Things About Andy's:
Cruiser
The Horribly Repellent Jovan
Trad WAYWN posters
Sorry, I just can't help myself.
The worst thing about Andyland is not Cruiser or anyone else, it's just that the whole thing has turned into a crashing bore!
On a certain level, I have enormous respect for Cruiser. He remade that forum in his image. Now, he uses the tastes and opinions of the noobs there as a ratification for his own relentlessly lower middlebrow tastes. He recently posted a picture of his typical casual shoes. I'm sure they didn't cost him more than $50 at the local DSW. Had he lived in ancient Greece, he might have become an Ionian tyrant!
As I have ofttimes observed before, for a guy who claims to have a "six figure retirement income" and is sufficiently interested in clothes to spend an inordinate amount of time on a clothing forum, he certainly is a world-class cheapskate!
Is "Howard" still around? I never look at anything other than the main fashion forum there these days.
As I have said before, when Pags went low-profile, that forum ceased to be fun to ridicule. Nowadays, ridiculing it is sort of like ridiculing a bowl of steamed rice.
Nope - I refuse to bite until someone is nastier than this...
Tragically ill-informed drivel from Alden at LL...
Re: Rubinacci question

Uppercase
I know you have a good deal of recent, first hand experience with Rubinacci. The clothes I have seen coming out of Naples made for LL members is uniformly excellent. You can like or dislike the style, but the fit and handwork is what we would expect from a first rate tailoring house.
Were the variances to be found from London or Milan more apparent in the fit, styling or handwork?
Mariano Rubinacci is not a trained tailor or at least that is what I have always understood. He is, however, the third generation proprietor of one of the best tailoring houses in Italy. He is a consummate salesman, has excellent taste, and he has to know tailoring almost as well as his tailors. Is his personal involvement not enough?
Michael Alden
Dude, if Mr. Rubinacci is not a tailor, why not just leave it at that? Why fluff him up by characterizing him as "a consummate salesman"? Is this intended as a positive attribute in a bespoke tailor? Isn't "master tailor" better than master salesman? Inane.
And, don't try to make the inane leap that since Mr. Rubinacci and his family have been in the tailoring buisness for many years that means "he has to know tailoring almost as well as his tailors" Doesn't say much for his tailors, who, presumably, are trained and have been plying their trade for decades.
And, what bearing does Mr. Rubinacci's "excellent taste" have on the outcome of the clothes? None.
I'm not disparaging Mr. Rubinacci. He doesn't need my advice. However, Alden needs my advice: Don't mislead your members with inane drivel. You clearly do not know what you're talking about. Next time you have such an urge to dispense nonsense, stick a chukka in your mouth.
.
Sounds like Breshc with his hair brained ideas:

It looks as if I have been banned by Alden too. I can't login using my name and password. When I tried the forgotten password option, it said that my name and email address were not valid. I have nothing to deserve a ban other questioning the iGents' adulation of the Duke of Windsor on here.
