The Collection of Sartorial Excellence, featuring no less than FOUR seminars on shirt-ironing. I can only hope that some of the hotel staff are satirical bloggers or novelists. The idea of a conference room full of awkward, overdressed men ironing shirts for two days is oddly appealing from a performance-art perspective.

A vaguely distressing wedding thread.

The search for the perfect collar stay, kind of. I think "The Dandy" will go far at AAAC. He has just the right mixture of shrill anger, fawning desire for approval, and the desire to spend stupid money on things no one cares about. I especially like how he dismisses mother of pearl collar stays because they will break.
While I agree, it's good to remember that there are countries where high quality shoes just aren't available. I know it sounds ridiculous, but perfectly civilized countries may lack any possibilities of purchasing high-end or even medium-end (is that a word...?) shoes. For example Herring Shoes, Pediwear etc. - all the usual internet shoestores - they all stock brands which are simply unavailable where I live. Seriously, not a single alternative found in those can be purchased here.
That being said, everyone should at least venture to try the first pair on on person.
