You guys are too nice. Think what wonders Da Vinci or Rembrandt could have accomplished if they had lived today, and instead of painting and inventing things they had chosen to make fun of iGents! Just think!

The original poster drops by to ask how to wear a tight-fitting modern suit without a tie (he does this by posting 200 blurry pictures); iGents tell him he can achieve this look with a voluminous 1930s style business suit, and that he really should be wearing a tie. This is kind of like asking a group of learned e-gentlemen to recommend a fine watch and being told that what you REALLY want is a bicycle.

Sorry, that is the only square of its kind in the universe. Hope for better luck in the world to come.

The Great Black Suit Thread enters a manic phase, which kind of reminds me of the congress of demons from Paradise Lost. Except Paradise Lost was kind of entertaining.

"Pip pip, chappies, here's a rather ripping yarn about the old e-commerce - one website gave me the what-ho, while the other turned into a bally cock-up spit-spot! Rather let down the side on some deep-discount Derbies (what you Yanks call Oxfords!)! Cheerio!" It chills me to the bone to hear that an online retailer used a form email to respond to a routine website problem. There's just so much evil in the world.

Maybe you should be telling this to your therapist or parole officer? Maybe?

An iGent strikes the mother lode of horse hide Aldens in a thrift store - thank god he nabbed them to re-sell on ebay before some poor people saw them!
Doc is always a pisser when it comes to shoos.
Shoo fights are always fun, especially when it involves Alden and AE. lt's always a bonus when people end up bagging AE for being fat, always lots of funny stuff said.
l liked it when Doc Muller said AE's look like loaves of bread.

The Great and Legendary Black Suit Thread has come to a boil, with high-priced streetfighter Cuff Daddy contributing a razor-sharp 35,000 word takedown of some guy who Cuffers accuses of being arrogant and condescending. If only there were some tart aphoristic phrase that I could use to point out that Cuffers makes his accusations of arrogance and condescension from a long-established position of arrogance and condescension! Does "keep your powder dry" work?

NB - This is from the Interchange, which I visit only because I am bored out of my mind on business travel. Anyway, typical Andyland arch-conservatism on the CEO of Target donating mucho dinero to some rabid anti-gay political group; our occasional guest Quay gives the Accountant a memorable and persuasive dressing-down to which I say bravo!

Oh Centaur, a man who rides horses once a week will never grow old (and I'm surprised that he's not a chum of Martin Amis, unless Amis is embarrassed to show his own poor wit and refinement in front of this forum philosophe).
Gil: Stay out of there. Nothing good comes out of that place.
In other news--
It's a disgusting, vulgar, and grotesque image but only an SFer would share his concern about "styling choices":

Got a great deal on some spectacular ugly suede penny/wingtip loafers but they don't fit. How do I stretch them?
(Ed. note: Better question: How can I incinerate them according to EPA regulations?)
