^ Why does this Manton person give a fig about the opinions of those on SF?

This just in from AAAC:

http://www.askandyaboutclothes.com/forum/showthread.php?t=90586

There is perhaps no subject which prompts more inane commentary than the double-breasted suit.  This thread, like so many before it, brims with the usual iGent truisms about them, namely:

1.  They are virtually never-ever-never done right.
2.  They are old.
3.  Their level of formality must be endlessly debated.
4.  The rotational velocity of the earth drastically declines when someone unbuttons one.
5.  The earth completely stops when someone wears one without a tie.

I'm just waiting for the thread to be completed by addition of the following, well-known forumland canards:
1.  Button-down shirts paired with DB jackets cause a chain reaction that can wipe out a major city.
2.  The short, say anyone under 6'1", have no business even being in the same room as a proper man wearing one, let alone donning one themselves.
3.  They are not Trad.
4.  Wearing one to a job interview will automatically ensure that you remain on the dole.
