Karl Lagerfeld's Diet Book

I ran across some good stuff in this book such as:

"A respectable appearance is sufficient to make people more interested in your soul."

"There comes a moment in life when the idea of youth and beauty has to give way to style and elegance.  That's how it is.  The gaze of youth is pitiless.  ...  Impress young people with what they cannot hope to be at their age.  ...  Don't try to compete with the young.  ...  If you are over thirty-five, don't set yourself up to be compared with young people...."

Lagerfeld started wearing Cifonelli and later went to Caraceni up to the early '80s.  He also likes Hilditch and Key  (Rue De Rivoli-not mail order).  Early on, his father bought him "... a few suits at Cifonelli...."
