John Fosters Buy on line

Just found this mooching on the internet...

Interesting to note they're offering Super 200's at £130 a metre.

A bit of history...

John Foster's are a very famous old weaving company based out of Black Dyke Mills (easily the most famous of the wool mills in England) based in Queensbury near Bradford, West Yorkshire, England. Their field of expertise was originally in the weaving of mohair fabrics, in fact they wove the Tonik fabric for Dormeuil, however, they no longer weave so they must be sourcing the cloth from various mills in West Yorkshire.

I've been to this mill several times in the past, it's on the edge of the 'windswept moors' of Yorkshire, it's very 'dark Satanic mill' looking, very Bronte, in fact the Bronte parsonage is just up the road in Haworth. They also have a 'world' famous brass band, The Black Dyke Mills band who caused a bit of a brouhaha when they played in some march or somewhat in NYC in the early nineties. The anally retentive anti-everything brigade in NYC thought their name was both racist and sexist.lol

Here's the band for you brass band affectionado's out there...

The brass band also accompanied Terry Wogan with his hit - The floral dance
