Re: Shirt Tales

lol

Robert Gillotte, the manager of Turnbull & Asser's bespoke shirt department in New York, said that dealing with some of the new shirt connoisseurs can be wearying.

''We get some wise guys in here,'' he said. He adopted a mocking tone: ''How many stitches per inch is this shirt.'' ''Are the buttons real?''

I have always had a weakness for Turnbull and Asser for a number of reasons.  They fit me almost perfectly OTR, the patterns are very appealing, and nobody else does a collar like Turnbull and Asser.  The other stuff, Pink and Tyrwhitt are just pure shit in my opinion, and I wouldn't waste my money on them.  The piece about wearing a fine English shirt with Dockers almost made me lose my meager lunch..

Re: Shirt Tales

I agree.. My amusement was with his description of the nouveau-connoisseurs as "wearying".. tongue
