The original topic was a Chensvold stray from Dandyism's premise that to be a dandy requires one to have literary pretensions. Anyone who has read me knows I don't qualify.
I think the well dressed fellow looks good while blending in. Dandies don't blend in, but I don't believe it takes much to be one. Wearing a pork pie or homburg, for example, will usually suffice if the rest is well put together. The same is probably true of a navy suit with pink pin stripes and items of clothing with rabbits printed on it. Preferably not worn at the same time though.

Which makes one wonder where some of these chaps get their ideas from.
