I once made a list of my stuff for Chris_H from memory & got it all mixed up...
My Khaki suit is from Press (not Brooks) and it's rather like this current ("Olive") one: http://www.jpressonline.com/suits_pressclusive_detail.php?ix=8
It's little worn so I must trash it this Summer. My Olive one is Brooks and is very nicely worn in by now. Very "Peachy" on the elbows & bum. Time the Khaki caught up.
You got a Khaki suit?
How do you wear it?
Do you ever bring love in it?
Best -
Jim
I have an Olive and Khaki from O'Connells. They both see heavy wear in the summer. Usually just wear them with a shirt and tie for work. I have worn the khaki suit with just a polo shirt to dinner. I rather like that look.
^ That's very cool.
I have an 80's Haspel Slate Grey also from the Harvard Coop of all places - A cut that Toffeman called uncompromisingly Ivy a while back to such an extent that he wondered if it could be worn in London.
... Which is why I love it.
The ostensible purpose of my trip to the States was to visit O'Connells and to drop by a BB outlet (brown cords, flat-front, properly sized $35 on some President's Day sale! and argyles, argyles, argyles).
O'Connell's is an amazing shop, and I recommend anyone to visit if they have an opportunity. It's a big ol' brownstone (replete w/ fire place) loaded w/ tweeds, suits, and all that other good stuff. It's a bit over-powering at first given the huge amount of just pure stuff. As full as the main floor is, there is even more stuff upstairs.
The street it's on has a lot going for it as well. There is a comic shop down the street one way (grabbed a bunch of used Fox film noir DVDs), a candy shop that still has its original interior from 1930 or whatever (the factory's actually in the back of the store), a record shop up the street the other way, and a great cajun restaurant w/ a wide and well-chosen beer selection.
Picked up a decent shetland (they still have 'em properly sized at suit-size numbering) and a khaki suit. Look forward to getting it after they finish the work on it.
