I say yea!
It comes from English Country Casual style, Twills & Bedford Cords an' all that.
Very 'Ivy' also. There is a pic of Miles in Dessies wearing it too on a pair of Charcoal worsted flat-front no-cuffs - That one that know-nothings link to saying that he's wearing Bucks. Oy!
So here's to the Beaded Seam -

In the ol US, the term is "flat felled seam". Twas an original specification on the US military khakis.
