Re: A mindset for Ivy?

Yeah, Ivy as a subset of Americana, like Jim said there ^

To get rid of the more obvious Americana element in Ivy would leave you "dressier" I guess. A sensible direction for someone about to turn 50 like ISR.

Re: A mindset for Ivy?

No 'mindset'.  No 'scene'.  Nothing crass.  Just a random collection of oddballs.

Re: A mindset for Ivy?

Andrew (and in fact anyone, but for the England poitn of view...), would you agree that whilst there IS a scene (or atleast the vague makings of one...), there's a complete rejection of it?

The way I see it, the Ivy thing (now, atleast) is exactly what the mod ideal is based on - the "best" clothes, the "best" music, and ACTUAL individuality whilst still fitting in to the whole thing - but it isn't mod and there's no scene as such...you know what i mean?

It is in many ways broader minded (in most ways...), but focused on style and knows what does (even if one may not wear it oneself) and does not work or look good.

A bit of a ramble but i think i know what i mean.

A man could spend the rest of his life trying to remember what he shouldn't have said.

Hello Slim.
I've got to say I like your style.
You are a straight talker and I look forward to hearing your views in the future. And possibly having some right old verbal ding dongs and livening up this joint a touch.

Re: A mindset for Ivy?

Hello to you too Mr Beatnik,

I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by...
Disillusionment?
Despair?
Ennui?
Time?
Google?
Consumer culture as opposed to Creative Culture?

Take your pick!

I can talk crooked too, mister.

This world's built for and by Squares...we live in it as best we can...
