Were you not so impressionable (read: an easy mark), super Mariano would not give you the time of day, Matt. The sales method of the Rubinacci machine is no different from that East Bay rug merchant we discussed a few years ago. It is fascinating to me that you don't see the similarity. I think we agreed on the shortcomings of the rug merchant ("first cabin service" in the sales literature).
There was an interesting mention of London House in Sleevehead's excellent blog a while back. He found himself to be judged unworthy of the Maestro's attention. My recollection is that he was found to be unworthy of anyone's attention at London House, Naples. Follow the money.
