Re: Church's loafers, made in USA

I've been doing a lot of walking lately & have been wearing some Rockports with rubber soles that have a kind of 'Air-Wear' cushioning system built in without looking too bulky. Very comfortable shoos & not too bad looking either (full strap, Cordo coloured Penny loafers). Bean used to carry them.

Sebago & Bean also have more rubber soles on offer than before I notice.

Why not? They're very handy in the wet.

Any other fans of Vibram, Danite & the rest?

I had a pair of Bean beefroll with rubber soles.  A nice looking shoe, the colour a touch more oxblood perhaps than burgundy.  Not a good fit unfortunately.  The rubber smelled so strong by the side of the bed my wife complained.  Would the Sebago Ian Strachan wore years ago have had rubber soles?

"The rubber smelled so strong by the side of the bed my wife complained." Ponyboy... If i wasn't a gentleman I would find a great source of humour in this old chum.
