Charcoal and Black, and Tan and Black. Thoughts?

Even Flusser recommends/cites a Charcoal suit with a Black Turtleneck

I've also found a darker tan cashmere sportcoat with a black turtleneck looks rather smashing at night.

Your thoughts?

FNB,

I would like to make a suggestion for an article by you for evening(hip) menswear, a guideline of what you think is elegant yet hip for the night.
I think this is an area that is of much confusion for men in today's society.

'Come out you black and tan, come and fight me like a man, said the lad of the flying brigade....' Oh wait, wrong image.
I was in the 7th grade and my mother decided I needed a blazer for a school dance.
I was wearing a white turtleneck and the salesman thought it a 'interesting look.' Serendipity that fall everybody was running around looking like a reunion of unterseeboot kapitans until common sense blew tanks and they surfaced for fresh air.
