smsmith007 has got hundreds of recent Brooks NWOT shirts in his eBay shop. 32 came up when I searched on ‘popover’.Unfortunately most were slim fit and had the hanging sheep logo on them, which I object to more than the RL pony.
‘Smithy’ does say this about postage:
US and International Buyers: I can fit two or three shirts or other small items into a USPS Padded Flat Rate Envelope. I will combine shipping and refund the lower shipping costs.
Sounds a very decent chap. I don't like that damn sheep either, though, and slim fit might well present major problems. Still, it's nice to know he's there.
I must tell Yuca about him. We're planning a meet next month.
That’s nice, do give him my regards.
I bought 3 shirts from this chap, 2 Brooks & a Southwick back in January, and he offered that postage deal back then. Came pretty quickly too, and no import duty either.
Not an alert, simply an observation or two. American sellers often do not respond to messages, especially on shipping. Others - Americans again - are folksy and can't do enough for you, like a couple in Indiana I recently bought from. In the first category, the seller wanted something in excess of $3.000 dollars to ship a $60 jacket. Yet, when I was selling on Ebay a few years ago, we were often left out of pocket over the postage.
Maybe some American sellers need to reexplore the philosophy of inter-war Republican economists.
And some sellers are happy to accept a reasonable offer on an overpriced garment that's not selling, whereas others are convinced that if they let that shirt sit for another 7 years someone is sure to pay 4 times its actual value.
^ Wry grin... but, yes, slimmm, you're right.
A number of John Simons items on Ebay at the moment, including 34 waist chinos. I guess some of the earlier items have already become rarities: the aertex shirts for instance.
What is 'Indie' supposed to mean? I seem to remember the term in the music world as chaps with floppy hair doodling around on synthesisers recording in damp basements for the 'Dog's Scrotum' label whilst waiting for a 'phone call from Richard Branson.
There's a Hardy & Johnson tweed in 42 inch on ebay , NWT
I have that same H&J tweed jacket, and I love it. It's a great jacket especially if you can get it for £50.
A high postage rate and VAT on top for this 'Ivy League classic'. It has a single bid to date. I've never truly liked that colour, though, much preferring shades of brown.
I do love Hermes, don't you? They issue you with a tracking number then, when you try tracking the item, they tell you the number doesn't 'match any of their records'.
Brooks whipcord dress pants. 75p starting bid and no apparent interest with limited time remaining.
An incredibly nasty Career Club Palace Guard shirt for sale on Ebay. Just goes to show 'Made In The USA' doesn't always mean 'excellent taste'. Not in this instance, my beauties.
Two of the older Weller jumpers on Ebay. Nice enough.
I've seen those AFS, I thought they were a tad pricey.
Nice Stanley Blacker jacket on Ebay. In this country. Around a 36-38. Darted, though.
The Weller jumpers have no bids as yet. I agree with Runninggeez.
Also a nice Norman Hilton. Finishing today. Can't tell whether or not it's darted.
eBay has now got this annoying thing that every time you look at an item it opens a new window. Before you know where you are you’ve got about 20 open!
I haven't bothered with Etsy in years (used to quite pleasing when it began), but Ebay, for all its many and grievous faults, is still bringing through an impressive number of Ivy or 'borderline' Ivy items.
The Clipper Craft 'blazer' isn't bad, either.
The description 'Distressed and Thrashed' I adore. Just like the de-constructed apple pie.
Brooks USA-made plaid jacket, 41, ending in less than an hour.
