Thanks RR&P. I should really pull my finger out. And I mean that!

I'm set up with my very own e-mail address now, Mark. ajbradley59@hotmail.co.uk.
Generally, can I just give another Mighty Three Cheers for Alan Paine? I just the other week hand-washed a navy blue cashmere in Stergene and it's as soft now as when it was made, over forty years ago. Saddle shoulders and all!

Might be a good time to bump this. Sabre sounds interesting. I think an Ivy Shop Saturday boy once favoured it.
As it rains, it pours... British summer weather has descended upon us... so much so that twice in less than a week I've ventured out wearing a Christopher Haynes crew-neck...
But the reason for bumping this thread is: it shows JFM at his most constructive, with great former posters like Harpo, NSB and Staceyboy all chipping in.
I still wear that navy Brooks cashmere v-neck - so it proved a sound buy.
Search 'hand-framed' on Ebay and you'll have to navigate an awful lot of Ralph Lauren before arriving at a more satisfactory destination.
In fact - belatedly, for good reasons - these obscure Shetlands are becoming something of an addiction. But they mustn't wind up somewhere the moths can get at them, any more than with my Johnstons cashmere.
I've more or less given up on merino.
