I suppose I do, but some of it peeks out without having to leave the coat flapping open, eh?
Treat a vest as you would a sweater. Let it shine.
Thanks for sharing the anecdote about the gloves. I think the danger you are warning against is the perception among colleagues or others one meets of "affectation", and certainly anachronisms in clothing (as in speech) can have this effect.
I cannot say I am surprised that you would disapprove of many of my vests, though your reasons for disliking certain ones more than others might be interesting and informative.
It was a windy day yesterday and I was wearing a 3 piece suit. I noticed that I wore it unbuttoned until the wind started flapping my jacket around and then i buttoned it temporarily, unbuttoning it when I was inside or the wind subsided.
NEVER button a jacket if you are packing a handgun.
A. you cannot draw it
B. a buttoned jacket will more likely reveal the outline
Well it could apply to flasks of Canandian whiskeys or smuggling rolls of those red poppie spy coins into the USA. I took enough notes watching Canadian Bacon by that fine american John Candy to make a Red Dawn fan look silly. We're on to you up there!
A deserved thankyou to eg and FNB. Now when I get my 3 piece suit I will know not to button it. If we don't know how, and what to ask we will never get answers and remain in Igentia.
The series MADMEN gave an interesting take on odd vests. Sal, the latent Homosexual wears them. I cannot comment if this is a real reflection on the supposed gay attention to style or just a artfull devise seen in other character's dress and grooming. A sympathetic character, I hope he returns next season.
FNB, obviously cold weather gloves can go into a overcoat when not worn. How did you carry them with just a suit? They are an often needed item for me, even in California with a busted up hand that needs reinforcement at times. I try to avoid it, my driving gloves were retired with my brit sportscar ownership.
FNB & Tony, What are your opinions on the tattershal pattern I've seen in odd waistcoats?
