Watching it in black and white meant you got less information. Lots of adjusting contrast control to highlight detail.

was looking at the bottom pic and a female friend walks in the room and asks "is that a picture of you facing off with your double?"

which is pretty funny because i've often sported outfits i could picture Culp wearing. he maintained that classic style well into the early 70's.

sad news though, Culp was great, and criminally under-utilized in later years. i think there was a harlan ellison interview a few years back where he made a similar comment.
