I have just returned from Naples, and would like the world to know that the Maestro has an "outlet"store near the flagship shop. With typical hubris it is called "Rubinacci vintage." I asked what this meant and it was explained to me as roughly discontinued or close outs. Regretfully, it is not open on Saturdays, and so I was forced to buy a tie retail at the flagship store. I was able to complete the transaction without difficulty. I was not on the international Rubinacci "watch list."
For those planning a trip to Naples, the outlet is at Palazzo Cellare, via Chiaia 149/E.
In truth, I was asked to get a particular tie for a friend.
On my next trip I plan to visit the Rubinacci Outlet, I mean Rubinacci Vintage. Frankly, London House, was just a small shop showing mainly furnishings, private label swimming trunks, cologne, scarves, etc. It's a small shop, rather poorly designed, things not nicely presented. I suppose you need to go to the "back room" to see anything serious (if I recall that's how Loehmann's better stuff is shown, in the back room or something similarly named).
What's the deal with Eddy Monetti? I think he's all over Italy? I know I've seen numerous stores of his outside of Naples.
Marinella was a short walk away. I know there is a little Marinella hatred here but I think histies are nicer than Rubinacci's, and he is a great guy.
I went to Cappelli, and am having some ties MTO from him. I felt no need to go to Marinella after that. Marinella's RTW ties are said to be Drake's, and I got wanted I wanted from Cappelli. Drake's are readily available on sale from multiple stores during seasonal sales.
Did you stay at the Casa Rubinacci and didn't tell us, tteplitzmd?
Maestro was absent, only a retail salesman and cashier. Not a lot of traffic in this store. I really regret not being able to go to the so called Rubinacci Vintage (read: outlet), which wasn't open on Saturdays. I suspect it's filled with lots of failed private label stuff, e.g. out of date Rubinacci eau de cologne, out of style furnishings, customer returns and so on.
Check out the latest ventures in the so called Rubinacci Club, featuring blogger fashion icon Luca (do not forget the cannoli). Someone needs to buy this guy some socks. A good laser surgeon can remove the ankle tatoo. Also you do not have to stay at the Hotel Vesuvio in Naples, you can stay at Casa Rubinacci, the B and B venture.
