the pipsqueak who wrote this book has in my opinion got his head up way his ass based on his assessments of James Brown, the Beatles, Neil Young, Bowie, Marley, Elvis, Pet Sounds, What's Going On, and the Rolling Stones to begin with ..... too funny ....

Sturgill Simpson.
Never been a big fan of country music, but this is something else. "Marihuana, LSD, Psylocibin, DMT, they all change the way I see but Love is the only thing that saved my life" (Did he know me in my 20's?) and

Chick Corea & Gary Burton play Arts Centre Melbourne, Hamer Hall on Sunday 8 June at 7.30pm.
Any intelligence????
The Ms. is watching The Buddy Holly Story. Good fillum - I took her to see it years ago but she swears shes never seen it before and therefor I musta took someone else.
Enhanced by the fact that Ms is a huge Aircraft Crash Investigations addict. We have 60 episodes ad free on HD.
I do note that Gary/Buddy swaps from Shuron Revelations Malcolm X style halfway through to Freeways.
Underrated musician. And a good movie.
I have bootlegs and studio outtakes that show how "black" and heavy Holly was unadulterated. He would have gone on to greater things musically. No doubt in my mind.
It's PARTY time here at Castle Formby....
And I'm currently listening to this gem...

This might be the first banning from FNB. First warning from this moderator.
Next it will be latter day Fleetwood Mac or U2 or ColdPlay
Thorpe is one of the very intriguing music blokes in OZ.
He started off as a bit of a child star then become Top of The Hits with his Aztecs as a clean cut POP group in 63 or so with many No1 hits. Not that they were ever bad.
He hosted TV shows still clean cut.
Then sort of dropped out.
In 71 or so he reemerged with shoulder length hair, beard denim playing pubs (big beer barns in Melbourne holding 1,000 plus audience) with a raw, loud soul/R&B rock sound. Still one of the truly loudest bands I have ever heard. Before it was fashionable and before good equipment. Hard to capture it on YOUTUBE but have a look at CC Rider from Sunbury 72 - you can get an idea at least. I was at that festival - either running the drug overdose tent near stage or in front of stage - you might see me.
Billy Thorpe performing (live at the Horden Pavilion) the songs 'Baby Please Don't Go' and Ooh Poo Pah Doo'. 1974

Corner of Sauchiehall Street and Hope Street this bloke playing The Shadows. I was sat on a bench when he started playing behind me. I wondered who would be old enough to remember The Shadows hits. Googled and found he is quite established on that patch.

That's great. Good player, good sound. What a nice surprise.

Gareth Brooks live at Croke Park.
Now cancelled.
Who buys his records? Biggest sales of any artist the 20th century or something equally ridiculous.
