The unbearable unbearableness of igents:

"Having too much fun with corduroy, moleskin, tweed, flannel, etc. this time of year. Will be thinking about the reds and seersucker by March however."

"While not currently Norwegian, the Icelanders do a nice handknit sweater from their local wool.
I have one and it is so warm as to obviate the need for a coat in even the most frigid weather. The combination of warmth with freedom of movement makes it absolutely perfect for snowshoveling."
And from a horrific Interchange thread in which the Earle attempts to prove that his vocabulary is more correct than everyone else's:

"Ah...In America, MILF has an entirely different meaning. It refers to an attractive woman who is old enough to have had children. Although even a 16-y/o or younger female could have children, the specific intent of the term is to refer to women who are past the age of "young beauty". The term itself stands for Mother I'd Love to Fornicate (With). Actually...the F stands for something else with a very similar meaning...you get the idea.
On the subject of milk, personally, I think it goes in first. I believe tempered milk tastes better than scalded milk. But that's just me, and I recognize that not everyone is as rational as I am."
A younger, more vital man might riff on these carefully-curated inanities. I will let them stand on their own merits, and perhaps this afternoon I will put on my dog-walking shoes and pace out into the snowy woods, seeking an icy bower in which I will compose myself (perhaps in an amusingly undignified posture) to await discovery by hikers in the spring.
Interesting new thread on SF about whether it is 'a school of thought'
Somebody took the trouble to post this gem. It is very useful as it gives me an insight on the various Internet Big Timers over there and how I should regard them. I learn, for example, that Mafoofan is best seen as Alexander the Great and Manton as Aristotle.

There are some fanciful comparisons elsewhere. Economic theory gets dragged into it - the Chicago school and Keynes. Obviously style is far more important than that though.
I want to take this opportunity, before this year ends, to say that even by SF standards Lasbar is a vapid idiot and the most worthless piece of shit poster in the entire forum.
I think after we do the Official FNB Caligula Orgy field trip, we should spread out around NYC and do some FOO!-spotting. Or perhaps before. I will start messaging around a sign-up list.

I hate Lasbar too.
I have read his posts. I still don't get it though.
I have seen one where he complains about his FNB thread being deleted but I am none the wiser.
If you just don't like him admit it. Everyone has prejudices though it is more common in real life where you come into contact with the individual concerned.
Other individuals joining the 'I hate lasbar' group does nothing to provide an explanation why. Reasons are what I am seeking.
lt's not so easy to wrestle Scott to the ground. Here he is playing mind games again:

Certainly puts on a good front.
