quay - you forgot that Mother Theresa got a look in too..
I'm beginning to wish I knew cruiser well....
The 'Cruiser is on line right now' and 'Cruiser checked my profile' posts suggest the great man is either curious for reactions to his departure, or biding his time for a grand re-entrance.
Oh the suspense of it all!
Statboy's comments aside ....
At one time the Phoenix / Scottsdale area was the home and playground of artists and forward thinking architects such as Frank Lloyd Wright. He has / had a number of very interesting homes and spaces there. There are jewels there if one is willing to look.
I don't see any more trailer trash in Phoenix than in Manhattan or the Boroughs where the trailers are stacked on top of each other and called apartments.
My brother in law had some investment property in the Biltmore area that I visited a couple of years ago. The transition from that area to Scottsdale is pretty seamless now.
But I suppose that back in Wright's time they were quite different.
'What's happened (there) since WWII' has happened everywhere and now even Manhattan feels like a mall. Just add a glass dome and some kiddie rides
If I remember correctly he was well educated - with perhaps a semester or two Oxford or Cambridge etc.
He is / was also an editor / writer of a gun rag; An industry whose editorial integrity makes the folks at Conde Nast look like a Nobel Panel
In the 'gun world' he is considered a 'Fudd', a 'Square Ranger' or donut eater. This means he has the reputation of an arm chair general or a very opinionated man who remains untested in battle, a fight or even a mugging.
He probably thinks the 45 is a 'man's gun' that Glocks are 'Tupperware' and that ' they will blow up in your hands'
He is overweight and out of shape and can not get off the X.
He operates in a world where nobody around him knows any better or just doesn't care
He likes allen edmonds shoes
Jlib goes by capnpreppy around these parts.
I never tried to read "V.", but then, "Vineland" pretty much escaped me and I am guessing it is more coherent?
