I often wondered why AA members always seemed to lug around a small arsenal.

What were they afraid of?

^ I have it on good authority that Lord Howe's fleet is still lurking off Sandy Hook.

Another thing in need of explanation (I'm looking at you, Max): the obsession with owning the largest vehicle possible, no matter how costly or impractical.

The Atlantic ranks the most dynamic cities in the world. Only one in USA as far as I can see. Austin.

South America does well.

Good old Melbourne pops in at 14. Ha ha ha - Take that Sydney.

It was Brookings wrote report.

Re: Cultural Reference thread

I've had the misfortune of visiting several of those cities for an extended period and lived in one for over 2.5 years.  And I was also in Mumbai three weeks ago, a fucking toilet, with apartment prices in downtown the same price as London and Paris with none of the infrastructure. Families living in sewerage on the streets.

It all depends what your definition of 'dynamic' means, if it includes 30% unemployment and murder rates comparable with low grade civil wars, then yes, some of those cities are extremely 'dynamic'.

And to include Riyadh? The Atlantic must be well and truly insulting their ignorant readership.

Re: Cultural Reference thread

The thing which confuses me is why American people call a `fanny' a bum. Don't these people know that a fanny is another word for a vagina? lf you used the word `fanny' in my country you would have your face smacked in.

Another crazy thing is how you guys put the date back-to-front, you guys always do it wrong and it never makes any sense. lt should work from smallest time frame to largest, not be bastardised with no pattern. Eg X-mas day is 25/12/2010, it's not 12/25/2010. Day first, month second, year last (proper order). l've always called 9/11 11/9, why? ...because it happened on the 11th of September, not the 9th of November.
