Re: The Kings Speech film - a Critique

No, I use the word correctly as in the dictionary definition:

Something insignificant or worthless : NONSENSE <that idea is pure twaddle>

Although I own up to some tautology

twaddle - pretentious or silly talk or writing
Synonyms: baloney, bilgewater, boloney, bosh, drool, humbug, tommyrot, tosh,

NJS - I certainly didn't direct the plagiarism comment at you. I was referring to the Admiral presenting French advertising copy as if it were his own assessment of a book on good manners. You may draw your own conclusions from the links.

Of course it has nothing to do with The King's Speech, but I thought I would bring it to the Admiral's attention in a thread that he frequents.

Re: The Kings Speech film - a Critique

Its not a film review its a rant about how the communists in hollywood are undermining white society with their wishy washy bleeding heart values. At one point he is even thankful it doesn't have anything to say about racism or homosexuality or sexism.

I'm sure if you scratched the writer a little bit you'd get a rant on the need to resist the muslim influence, for men to be men, carry guns and check regularly under the bed for reds.

I suspect the writer really wanted a film that exposed the Brit Royals as the drug smuggling arm of the Illuminati and show them as the lizard people they are in league with jews and jesuits to control true aryan people.

I had assumed, by smelling and osmosis rather than research by reading, that the Admiral was born in UK but decamped to USA following a stint in Africa shouldering the white man's burden.

Re: The Kings Speech film - a Critique

I went to see the movie yesterday.  It's an OK way to spend a couple of hours, but it's nothing extraordinary.  I don't think the material or the acting deserves Oscars.
