I'm quite a big fan of yellow shirts.
Mick wins hands down for outfits in Adelaide - in the seersucker(??) suit even beating Charlie - until you look down at the dreadful sneakers and pooled up trousers. I don't get it - he makes an effort and can afford anything - why not just look down and fix it all.
But ain't that the way to display your hipster pretentions and groovy youthful OAP status - add a pair of trainers to every outfit.
But isn't the stone's demographic the (well) over 50's? Nothing youthful except perhaps perennially immature. I used to like, nay, love, the stones, but Exile aside, I abandoned them years ago. Mainly because they were stuck and not in a good way. For a brilliant pair of rock/pop writers the Glimmer Twins to continue to come up with unselfconcious misogynist lyrics consistently speaks /spoke of lack of effort and/or intelligence.
Anyway back to clothes, Mick could have worn white bucks, saddle shoes, correspondents or fuck it, even tasty white sneakers and fulfilled all the hip criteria. He choose not too. Just like the music. No wonder Charlie stays aloof.
I think Micks left the hanger in.
Details make the difference between the elegantly relaxed look and the trying too hard to prove you're hip look.
Take the T-shirt. On Charlie the white crew neck t-shirt shows akimbo under the black seater. Just enough as is wont to happen when you wear with a dark crew neck and you're moving around, and only a detail in an otherwise suave outfit. Mick's white t-shirt is a v neck that looks suspiciously like a "wife beater" or tank top that is best not seen yet shines through the finery, like an inner yob. That he rolls up the pants to show off the sneakers only reinforces the point that Hep just made and I quoted from the Wall street journal. Summed up nicely by fxh, perennially immature and dressing to prove it.
Anyone that knows London will know the love a mixed demographic has of seizure inducing trainers... from Notting Hill mothers to the kids playing football under the Westway to some 40 something mug working in media teaming them.with a casual jacket, I think Micks well in fashion there.
I'm not bitter much but London is full of c.unts
^And lot's of male feminists too!
What a wonderful, diverse and tolerant place it is, ideal to promote the core British values and identity which I was very refreshed to hear on Sky News this morning is all to with being tolerant to other religions, homosexuals and....well, that's all they could come up with!
He obviously does give a flying proverbial or otherwise he wouldn't be touring and making himself available for photo-shoots!
Despite that awful standards album, I think Macca should carry on, at least in the studio, he occasionally comes up with a half decent song.
I thought there were a couple of decent tracks on his last album, same with Bowie's.
Charlie gets impeccably dressed in Savile Row suit and tie just to punch arrogant Mick into a brace of salmon......

Rods being interviewed by Skavlan on TV in a minute. Got a bit of a soft spot for him, his CD box set of his recordings from the 60s is fabtastic. Some proper hardcore mod RnB. Solo and with Steampacket.
My fav though is this Shotgun Express tune.
