Well, as a diehard cravat wearer, I'm certainly an "old sod" and perhaps and "old sot" as well--I would describe myself as a seasoned toper. However, I am certainly not "crotchety." I customarily have a merry disposition and a cheerful demeanor!
Apropos of cravats, I am sad to observe that Beau Ties Ltd., who have made most of my current cravats, just made a drastic price jump from $70 to $95 for their least expensive cravats, which will probably curtail future acquisitions to a large degree.
