Re: Gentlemen, May I Offer You My Memberhood?

In my comments on the apparel trade I omitted to add that I know the forum imposes its own demands, regarding which I feel a sense of noblesse oblige. I am all too aware that none can answer the delicate sartorial question so well as I. My friends oft remark upon my wit and rapier like repartee as I send another peasant on his way with a well placed verbal thrust of "small wee-wee man!". Though it be a burden, I yet shoulder it with good-humour, knowing what pleasure my comments call forth in lives otherwise so dull and wretched and - in that - so unlike mine own.

I do find that it is sometimes perchance required - in order to drive my point home - to be a little mendacious about what others have said. The misplaced quote, the deleted comment, the pretence of misunderstanding. It will be obvious to the discerning that such deceptions are not, in truth, the lies they appear to be. Rather they serve that greater truth of that upon which I wish to insist. Smaller minds than mine might otherwise perceive some dishonesty in my approach but I am confident that I have quite resolved matters. Concerning issues of my own insistence, strict truth is less important than the greater reality which serves to elevate me to that place in mens' minds wherein I conceive I belong.

Re: Gentlemen, May I Offer You My Memberhood?

Umm. No. I cited a source.

Your source is Alice Through the Looking Glass.

"A word means what I want it to mean" said the Red Queen. "nothing more and nothing less".

It's a great book but it's fiction.

Re: Gentlemen, May I Offer You My Memberhood?

Regarding the subject of sexual intercourse and the conjugation often attendant upon it, I find that I am too busy to devote proper attention to the distaff side. My life does not really permit of social interaction with the fairer sex who - to be brutally honest - I find to be of insufficient knowledge and depth of spirit to appreciate my numinous qualities. The same, alas, can be said of those from the sub-continent and those who worship the deity they call 'Allah'. Such people, I find, are likely to fail to understand me and even to laugh.

Obviously I shrug off such laughter as a mere delusion and it does not bother me ONE BIT. I am sorry. Allow me a short moment to compose myself.
