That's the thing about the classics...

If it's good it looks fresh and cool, and neat and traditional at the same time...

Re: The new guy at John Simons

nothing on this forum would lead me to conclude that there's any fun or enjoyment for english Ivy guys. it's something for disenfranchised young men in search of identity and acceptance among a group of sussed peers to latch onto

Disenfranchised young men in seaerch of identity?

At my age! What a bloody nerve you have!

Unless, of course, we don't share the common understanding of the word young.

Russell,
If you are indeed stopping in at J Simon's, can you implore him to respond to my querries regarding the Buffalo Creek Traders?  An ocean divides us...

I feel like I should check out this J Simon's gaff while I'm in London town this weekend. If you'd be so kind Russell; opening hours friday and address please, nearest tube stop?

Re: The new guy at John Simons

Baker Street Tube. Straight out the front door & across the road to Chiltern Street.  A short walk up it will find John's.

11am to  6pm.

If I'm in, say Hi ?

If you can't see me just ask - I'm often downstairs as Woofboxer will confirm.

- I'm the Cat with the Schtick !   wink

Re: The new guy at John Simons

So what happened to 76?  Who was he?  I was reminded of a cartoon I used to watch during my primary school years (the 60s).  A bit of a wet rag, wasn't he?  I always relished seeing what the guys at 2 Russell Street would be wearing (I even clocked Jeff's legs once), and suspect I would rather like seeing what the other, newer, younger men are wearing.  Respect to our European friends ^  They know who they are.

I dress in Ivy for the express purpose of appeasing older men. (76 you old bugger! You got it in one.)

I liked the way Quay got stuck into him.  Quay is an American.
