I wonder if JS could be persuaded to add these to his range. Navy, olive and tan? I missed out on a superb vintage Dannimac belted number last summer. Just couldn't squeeze into it.
An idea I floated when I was a small part of the JS marketing team last year - A collaboration with his old employer and himself would be great. Or just him reprising his original Cothesville design.
Chatting to J. the feedback on the Aertex collaboration was all good.
More collaborations would be very interesting.
Simons/Burberrys' would capture a certain, limited market perhaps, and go some way towards mending fences.
Thinking again, I wonder if this might now be difficult.
I remember once asking John about the originals and if he thought there might be any still around. He said he thought they had all been consigned to the dustbins of the East End long ago. Or the V&A?
Not the V&A, although JS & Village Gate are absolutely in there - I was once mates with this boy who had the keys to the kingdom... Ultimately he got sacked & decided it was my fault for getting him pissed & playing dress up with him downstairs (I only lived round the corner at the time).
My life !
Why do we never get Shurons or Sanders spamming the site?
I'm still after something like this. Anyone got any ideas of make, price etc?
JS has resurrected the cord overcoat along with other Burberry’s standards. How does cord work as an overcoat material on a cold wet day? I also wonder about it’s durability as I’ve had a couple of pairs of supposedly good quality cord trousers that started to go bald even more quickly than me and 2 RS.
I'd prefer a belted trenchcoat, probably in navy. Pretty bloody useless at this time of year. More mid-spring wear, I suppose. I always regretted that the S/H Dannimac I saw in Nottingham in around 2006 simply wouldn't fit. And I was fairly slender then.
I'm still no further ahead with this. I've been looking. It must be the correct colour, length and belted. Made in England, France or Italy. Perhaps the USA.
