There are only a couple of high-end "bespoke" trousers makers remaining in NYC, a man and a woman.  Each does kick-ass work, but it's nevertheless amazing to me that such resources are so limited in a city like New York.

I accidentally ended up with 2 pair of Berle trousers this season (private label's a bitch).  These are not for me.  The rise is too long and the ass is too narrow.  I much prefer those pants from Brooklyn.

Horace,  Both Press and Andover offer excellent trousers by Executive Trouser Company (per RN number).  Shirtmaven has stated that these are actually manufactured by Hertling, Brooklyn.  The Press model is lined and has slant pockets.  The Andover is unlined with on seam pockets and costs a bit less.  These are an excellent fit for me.  These and the Bill's M2 model are the best for me and I have to kick myself everytime I deviate.  Sadly, I'm a sucker for a good deal.

I got two trousers from Hugestore some time ago.  One ended up being Berle and the other Corbin.  The Corbin were nice but do not compare with the Brooklyn pants. The Berle's may have been teflon.  Low crotch.  Not for me. 

I tend to wear my trousers lower on hip than is sartorially acceptable.  But by gut is large relative to my hips and my sloped shoulders are not so good for braces.  Thus I look a little like a slob.  I look much worse with a low crotch though.

Check the cavalry twill trousers in the current Andover catalog - "made in Brooklyn".  I got these and some flannels that were also from Brooklyn.  Unfortunately I got the wrong size and will soon be shipping them off to nickerbacker.  I got some new old stock from Press that are berle, but all my >$200 list Press trousers (4 pair) from the last two years are Executive Trouser of Brooklyn. It will be sad when Press decides to change sources again.  I hope Hertling is giving them a good deal.

Thanks for the heads-up.  It's amazing the prices on American-made quality dress trousers nowadays.  It was only 10 years ago that you could get a very well-made trouser with great fabric for under $100.  Lucky for me, I bought about dozen pair of gray odd trousers.  So I'm set, so far.
