Keep a brave heart Vox, I think I've seen this offered in Fresco quality.
It's time bring back the 80s city slicker look - chalk stripes, butcher and bengal striped shirts, spotted ties and bright braces. It really winds up the lefty crowd.
BTW, I am reliably informed, by a mutual friend, Rik Mayall is as right-wing in real life as as his Alan B'Stard character who wore that look.

When I first started working in Westminster in the 80s, I could not afford expensive suits. Redwood & Feller (in Tothill Street, now gone) sold me some RTW chalk striped DB suits. The old tailor replaced the buttons (with better horn ones) and improved the fit with alterations. I received numerous compliments on my "Savile Row" suits. Looking back, those RTW suits fitted better than many bespoke suits that I have seen recently on SF.
I'll admit I'm not much for stripes myself (I only have one MTM pin-dot silver on charcoal) -- they seem too "businessy" for the 'burbs, and I will also admit to a little Madoff-style "pay no attention to the man behind the curtain" self-effacement for work.

^ Quest is a loathsome creep anyway. I only ever watched CNN in hotel rooms.
I had hoped he would disappear from TV after his arrest in Central Park.
I am not a huge fan of pinstripes, but now that I read Maximus' post, I want one!
Richard Quest? Who the fuck cares what he of all people has to say about pinstripes being 'out of fashion'?! I've heard that being a gay drug addict is also out of fashion, but apparently that didn't stop Dick.
I love stripes on suits and shirts. Chalk stripe are too die for. I well remember the '80s City look. I am still pining away for it. I'm looking for a fat chalk stripe on charcoal, blue butcher striped shirt w/spread collar, and navy tie with red polka dots. In-yer-face stockbroker chic. Fuck 'em if they don't like it.
I know what you guys mean, I want to wear stripes more than ever myself...which isn't easy.
Jeeves and Hawks - the long-lost collaboration between P.G. Wodehouse and Audubon.
All this talk reminds me of that old boy in the City who, when most were told to dress down on the day of the G20, still went off to work in his chalk stripe and red socks. He said something along the lines of "I'll be damned if those lot mean I can't wear a suit to work."
Good place, rather good attitude and service. Best prices on pantherella socks. You can either ask him to take the VAT off and see the postage go up, or leave the VAT alone and the postage remains very reasonable. He has a good relationship with pantherella, so if you have a specific request, he can ask for you. You might end up having to take 6 pair but sometimes there's just an odd one or two pair left.
