A new feature. Andy does a video in the mall. He is much as I expected - unlike Alden.
FNB will have to go into video next.
lt's always amazed me how Andy's simple forum has gathered so much media interest and had so many industry people participate at the forums. S.F has had no such publicity and has not had as healthy following by industry people. l feel Andy's front page and advertisers have alot to do with his success.

There's alot of negative at S.F (people are more skeptical of rtw and brand names), my guess is that alot of advertisers would want nothing to do with them. J has a large forum, but who is he?
Comodification is all that counts!
... How vulgar all these coves are...
Andy has a book that sets out a Forum philosophy and a lot of it hangs off that. Style Forum does not have that. It is more of a free for all. So advertisers can introduce Andy as an expert.
I am not sure what things were like in the early days when they all had just started. Did Andy set up with a lot of advertisers or gradually acquire them ?
AAAC also plays very very safe. I am still amazed at the number of bannings. In a recent discussion about 'presidential style' the moderator was moved to post that, although nobody so far had posted anything political, he was worried that someone might. Complete neurosis !

FNB's post should have a wiki-style 'citation needed ' flag.
I think the industry recognises the power of opinion formers regardless of the opinions offered :-

^ To put it another way what puts money in pockets is what counts.
I'm really wondering about all of this now...
I know enough clothiers who openly disdain the fora & enough forumites who also deeply disdain the fora, so what's going on?
Who is actaully buying into all of this in their heart of hearts? And why do they count?
This is just a self-feeding industry being exploited from all angles by everyone - Why else would one have anything to do with it unless one was really, really, really thick? (The FNB 'Wardrobe' site is the exception here, as always.)
Only the Independents & the Trolls have any credibility in any of this.
On the posed photo, his trousers are about a foot too long, and, IMHO, his shoes are wrong for his suit. Maybe it's really "Ask Cruiser"?
