Once you've had the lovely boxcalf, you don't want anything else. Fantastic stuff!

Beautiful, Shooey! Are you going to give us a look at the sole with bevelled waist? I didn't know that Vass did that.

Would you call that a bevelled waist? Not that it matters because the Viennese shoemakers I spoke to told me that this sort of things was considered more something they put on ladies' shoes.

I am pondering another pair or two of Vass early in the new year.  Might do a budapester like that other one you have, but something in a tan, maybe even a scotch grain, and very substantial.  Am also considering a pair of wing tips on the U last.

A friend had some nice burgundy cordovan Budapesters made at one of his shoemakers in HUN and commnented how comfortable they are for wider feet.

Lovely shoes. The medallion makes them decorative and the double sole marks them as really substantial and down to earth - shoes to be worn and not only shown on clothing forums. The leather looks pretty thick and supple. Is it?

I like your shoes.

I have a large collection of Vass pics posted on various forums or taken from their catalogue.  They have some very nice pieces.  There's a budapest-oxford on a U last in a spectator dark brown / light brown pattern which is really nice.

lt's not so bad with Vass, deep damage can be filled with wax and/or buffed out. l've ruined s bunch of Church's (all now) and some Santoni FAM very quickly (all will be given away), actually ruined because the surface coating (not grain corrected) come off with a slight mishap towards a gutter etc.
