All,
What is your opinion on the best internet MTM shirtmakers, and in particular how do you think they compare with an average custom shirt maker in terms of construction quality and other aspects? Just to be clear, I am not asking for a comparison with Charvet, Mimmo Siviglia, or some other top operations - rather your average small 1-to-5 person operation as can be found in many large cities.
Thanks,
JD

Well JD, that one went down like the proverbial lead zeppelin.
Its certainly a deterrant for me. It has too much risk that you will measure incorrectly and certainly, I'm not going to trust the missis to carry out the mission.
Internet MTM doesn't make sense.
It might make sense if you already have a couple custom shirts that you can easily measure...
No internet operation can provide the personal interaction required to produce a properly fitted shirt. The local shirtmakers, for the most part, outsource to a few large manufacturers and you'll be measured and fitted by a salesperson, a recipe for disappointing results.

Yes, the above is all very good, but has no meaning if one is following the Zen-karma inherent in, and if I may quote the label on a Mercer shirt "Baggier is Better."
I would never get a shirt made by mail order, unles I had had shirts made first in person and was simply making follow on orders.
