Good people, etc., but good prices? I believe all London bespoke shirts are made by the same ladies working out of their homes. Not that there's anything wrong with it. You could have Stephen Lachter do the work and know that the man made shirts for Sinatra, Cary Grant, and Dirty Harry.
He'll be in NY in late April.

Are they still making the shirts in the UK (I dare not asking in London...) and inhouse?

Hugh Grant and Dean Martin are not exactly positive endorsements of the brand.

I'd stake Mr. Lachter's Dirty Harry and Ralph Fiennes (his character in Schindler's List) against Hugh Grant (playing himself) and Dino (playing himself) any day. Sinatra seems to have gotten around.

BTW, how much do their bespoke shirt come to? Does their price rise sharply with fabrics and options?

Dino had large shirt collars if I recall. Plus a lot of cleaning bills to get the wine an liquor stains out.

Check out the 4 seconds of Ralph Fiennes' slamming the phone in this trailer for In Bruges. The shirt is superb.

Note Fienne's line: "An Uzi? I'm not from South Central Los Angeles, I want a normal gun."

Re: Harvie and Hudson American Trip Spring '10

Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra had some of their shirts made by the late Nat Wise of Beverly Hills.
Anto, who took over the shop still has their patterns displayed in the shop.

And weren't some of  Dean Martin's (and some of the other Rat Pack's) suits and tuxes made by Sy Devore?

Not to say they didn't have other tailors and shirt makers.

Regards,
Ed
