Re: G9 News...

If that is the case it is indeed marvellous news.

Jack will know beter than me -but isn`t there a dolly on one of the Mod Forums- who can get hold of baracutta jackets at very good prices.

If I recall she works at the factory and any rejected jackets are availlable for the staff to buy at knock down prices (apparently quallity control is so stringent that the faults are imperceptible to the purchaser- I think she was also selling the G4 - perhaps trial runs to gauge  consumer response)

Jack maybe able to provide the link.

( unless he itends to buy up all her stock and post on the sales forum at AAAC-Bet the trad crowd will be demanding his reinstatement pretty promptly-just so they can get their hands on bargain g4`s-  tis the way of the world gents-tis the way of the world)

Re: G9 News...

Mr. Speas is boosting the jacket I've moved on to!

As Mr. Dolan knows the new G9 style jacket I'm talking about isn't Baracuta. It's more Baracuta than Baracuta is these days!

Modcult. indeed has a great contact for Baracutas at a good price. 'Search' over there and you'll find her. I hear nothing but good about her, btw. Bless her golden heart.

G9 = "Harrington".
G4 = 50's kinda golf style (?).
G10 = Nato watch strap.

Any other "G's" out there in the wide world of classic American style?

j.

Re: G9 News...

I do know they used to wear straw boaters . ( I saw it in a movie )

no evidence of any rowing boats though- not like Jerome K. Jeromes classic.

Re: G9 News...

I was looking at G9 pricing on O'Connells.  Fuck me if the pricing hasn't gone all loopy since O'Connells burst on the Trad-I-Net scene.

Aving gotten the dark bloo, I'm in the mood for the light blue or tan.  Tan, you can't go wrong.  But was there any significance in ol' England with the light blue?  Just curious.

It was a fave of Sinatra (perhaps not so much as the tan), but I wonder if it had (has?) any naffy connotations?

I'd 'ate to get me 'ead kicked in as I stroll up and down 'lephant and Castle after midnight....  If I do, however, it won't be because of me gear, I'm sure.

Speaking of E&C though, I remember more than a few decades ago, this broad who lived near....THere was some style in that neighborhood.  Of course, she lived above a painter going to Camden art college or some such who didn't believe in clothing at all.  But that's what I liked about the area.  Freaks, weirdos and Rude boys all in the mix.
