I have some Allen Edmonds belts that I've been wearing for 10 years now, and they still look great.
I've been wanting a plain black calf belt from April in Paris but I've been focussing more on her other kinds of accessories.... I guess belts are just belts, as far as I'm concerned. Unless you are into exotics (not I). I've seen her making belts, down to grinding the leather pieces by hand so they come together seamlessly.
For casual I like belts from Richard James and the sturdy ones from Iron Heart paired with jeans.
l get a mate to make my belts. Seeing him on the weekend to get five made up.
My belts come from Turnbull & Asser, T M Lewin and Crockett & Jones. All were made in England.
This belt, hand-made by Claire Painter, who trained in Scotland and makes authentic leather goods today for the equestrian community in Kentucky, is featured in the latest JPeterman catalog...

I went with this Ranger belt, which has a rustic look to it I haven't found elsewhere...

Most of the belts I've gotten (and I only have half-dozen) were from Trafalgar back when they were made in the USA.
Got a couple of more casual (wider) belts from ol' Ralph in "Italian saddle leather" that I think look good. And a brown croc to wear with the ol' silver buckle.
Dark brown or black, usually. Simple. Never been very interested.
Oh yes, got a Filson for casual. Quality's A-1.
